As we continue to journey through the COVID-19 pandemic, we are always on the lookout for facilities that go the extra mile to bring some joy to their residents. HealthCap would like to recognize the staff at Lakeview Assisted Living in Battle Creek, MI for finding unique ways to do so! From re-enacting a wedding of loved ones to arranging a flyover to recognize veterans, Lakeview has certainly gone above and beyond for their residents. Thank you for all you have done, and all you continue to do to ensure happiness and safety during these trying times. Check out a few of their amazing stories below:
“This spring, a couple re-enacted their marriage proposal outside the window of one of our residents. She had “adopted” them as grandchildren and had been waiting “forever” for them to get married. This summer, the couple decided to have a private ceremony in our gazebo so that our resident could attend their wedding. It was such a blessing!”
“We were blessed by Colonel Frank Walker who has dedicated his retirement to honoring Veterans. He arranged a WWII plane flyover to recognize the Veterans at our community. In addition, he was able to get a proclamation by our Mayor marking July 29 as “Senior Veterans Day” in our area and the American Legion Riders, Iron Horse Riders, and Patrol Guard held a parade for our residents. During the flyover, Col. Walker narrated and at the end, the planes circled while we played “God Bless America” for our Veterans and their caregivers. A 98 year old resident stood when the flag passed by. It was an amazing day!”
As a small token of appreciation to Lakeview Assisted Living, we sent over lunch to keep these heroes fueled up and ready to keep bringing joy to their residents. How are you appreciating your staff?
